It is our priority at DVH to use our skills and knowledge to ensure you and your pet are best cared for, both from a preventative (long happy life) context, and when they are unwell. Below we have listed a few of the things that we excel in, which make a big difference to the pets and clients that visit us every day.
Comparing costs? We know costs vary clinic to clinic, and we will not be the cheapest vet you can find. And there are good reasons why. We do not compromise on the things which make a difference when it comes to high quality vet care. Pets are important and loved family members, who have no voice of their own, and so many things will make a difference to their experience, health and lifespan.

Welcoming and Friendly
You are greeted with a smile, and your pet with a treat. We enjoy what we do, and this shows in the friendly welcoming nature of all our team members. The full client experience is considered, from the first phone call to the entire veterinary visit.
Excellent communication
We are thorough, taking time to explain things in an easy-to-understand way, while still being comprehensive. We utilise white boards in consult, and written information to further expand on detailed topics.
Pet Advocates
We focus on the things which make a different to your pet, including reducing anxiety and worry, right through to excellent pain management for procedures. We are always focussed on long happy lives for the pets who visit us.
20 minute consults, longer for new patients
Comprehensive patient examinations and good communication takes time, so we have minimum 20 minute consults. New patients and some unwell patients have this extended to 40 minutes for no additional charge.
We won’t turn you away
We offer immediate triage services for emergency patients, and hold empty slots in the schedule to fit in the sick patients that need us. We will stay open longer for after-hours appointments when able and needed.
Cats and Dogs are different
We have separate waiting areas, separate consulting rooms and wards, and utilise fear-free and cat-friendly training to help your pet enjoy their visits. We also understand the differences in health and medicine each of them requires.
Regular Training on Professional and team topics
We close weekly for full team meetings, improving our professional knowledge and working on team growth. This helps us stay up-to-date on best medicine, and enjoy and excel in our teamwork and personal growth.
Compassionate and Calm End of Life Care
Saying goodbye can be one of the hardest things you will ever do as a pet owner. We take the time to ensure this process is as calm and stress free as possible for both you and your pet, utilising sedation to allowing a gentle goodbye.
We work as a Team
We employ enough staff to allow us to deliver team-based care. The nurses will be involved in consultations, help with overflow and emergency triage, helping consultations stay on time and improving communication.
Convenient off-street Car parking
We have a large carpark out the back, with night lighting, and a disabled or emergency carpark right at the front door. We are also located off the main highway in a service lane to allow additional parking if needed.
Worth the drive
Many of our clients travel many suburbs to visit us. They have either moved away and still drive back, or have decided as a new client that we are worth the drive for the care we provide. We value this effort, and will try and accommodate appointment times to reduce traffic and travel times.
Client Relationships
It’s not always about the pet; we also value you, and the relationships we build with you over time. You are a key part of the team which look after your pet, and we want you to be engaged with their best care and enjoy your visits to see us as well!
