Our Unique Touch
Fear Free Professional Accreditation
Dandenong Veterinary Hospital utilises our Fear Free Accredited Professional(s) to tailor our Standards of Care throughout the practice.
Animals are at their best when they feel at ease. Fear Free® offers science-based, behaviour-led strategies to prevent and reduce fear, anxiety, and stress. Fear free® veterinary practice involves replacing restraint handling with gentle control to reduce anxiety, stress and create a safer environment for patients, clients and our healthcare team. Gentle control techniques may be used together with anxiety medications and protocols to keep your pet at ease.
Cat Friendly Clinic Accreditation
Dandenong Veterinary Hospital is recognised as a Cat Friendly Accredited Clinic.
The ultimate goal is to reduce feline stress, so for the best patient outcomes, we continue to work hard in educating our clients about Feline Friendly approaches. This also involves the structure of our hospital, workflow, and team training to accommodate the unique requirements of feline medicine.
Ceva Calm Clinic Certification
Create a lower stress clinic for a happier vet visit
This program shows our dedication towards optimising the mental well-being of all our canine and feline patients with the specific use of pheromones throughout our entire building (Reception, Consulting Rooms, Hospital facility). The pheromone products are products that, when inhaled from the environment, will have a positive behavioural effect which quickly induces a sense of calm and hence lowering anxiety and fear.
The Ceva Calm Clinic Certification works perfectly together with our Fear Free and Cat Friendly accreditations for the ultimate anxiety-lowering benefits.
Community Service Philanthropy
Dandenong Veterinary Hospital continues to support our community with regular philanthropic donations to a rotating selection of charities. For every standard consultation visit to our practice, we donate a percentage toward a charitable organisation.
After each qualifying consultation visit, our clients can participate in selection of which of the available charities they want us to direct our contributions towards.
Eligible charities are always related to the animal industry. Some of these include wildlife funds, supporting the less fortunate owners in our community, mental health & well-being of veterinary industry professionals and animal rescue organisations.
